On January 4, 2011, shortly after 1:00pm, The Carroll County 911 dispatched the Carroll County Ambulance Service to a shooting call in the 500 block of North Folger in Carrollton, MO.  Carrollton Police Officers and Carroll County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the scene.  A White Male subject in his late 50’s was found shot in a parked vehicle at that location.  Witnessed identified a subject at the scene with the victim.  The subject had fled the scene in a Black Ford Ranger Pickup prior to the officers arrival.  The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.  At this time, an autopsy is being arranged.  The person of interest is in custody at this time in Independence Missouri.

This remains an ongoing investigation and no further details can be released.

Independence Police have a Carrollton murder suspect in custody following an officer involved crash.  The suspect’s pickup truck collided head on with a K-9 police cruiser on Owens School Road near Flynn.

Police say the man picked up a firearm after the collision.  A deputy fired at the suspect who then dropped the weapon and was taken into custody.

According to reports, the officers involved have been taken to Centerpoint Hospital with minor injuries.

Scanner traffic has indicated there was a shooting Tuesday afternoon at 507 North Folger in Carrollton.  KMZU has learned that the police are looking for a suspect vehicle described as a black Ford Ranger license plate 630-TP6. It is believed to be a 1991 model and was last seen heading west out of Carrollton toward Liberty.  The suspect is considered armed and dangerous.   The Carrollton Police Department would not comment.  Stay with kmuz.com and 100.7 FM for latest on this story.
