WARSAW, Mo. — The chief of police in Warsaw suffered non-life threatening injuries after being shot during an altercation with a juvenile Friday morning.
KMZU News has confirmed reports that Warsaw Police Chief Jason Wenberg was shot by a 16-year-old who was reportedly wanted for allegedly stealing a car.
The incident occurred around 9:00 a.m. Friday.
The juvenile reportedly fired first, striking Wenberg in his bulletproof vest. Chief Wenberg then fired back, striking and critically wounding the suspect, who remains unidentified.
