SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – A Fulton man was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison Thursday, for illegal possession of firearms and manufacturing a silencer.

Nathaniel Craig Carroll, 37, pleaded guilty in July to illegally making a firearm, possessing an illegally made firearm and being a drug user in possession of firearms. After Carroll’s children were removed from his home by court order, Carroll made threats about employees of the Division of Child Services. Carroll told the clerk at a local hardware store he was purchasing parts to make a silencer.

Callaway County deputies seized homemade silencers, numerous altered firearms, thousands of rounds of ammunition and marijuana when the executed a search warrant at Carroll’s home in October of 2017.
