A job fair sponsored by the Missouri Department of Corrections was held at Carrollton City Hall Wednesday.  Click to hear KMZU’s Kristie Cross talk to Lieutenant  Timothy Carder:

Lieutenant Timothy Carder

During the event,  Carder said the agency is attempting to expand their hiring efforts for two facilities located in Cameron.  “Carrollton is about an hour away from the Western Missouri Correctional facility and the Crossroads Correctional facility, “said Carder, ” They’re two that lay back to back in a pretty rural area.  There’s approximately 500  employees between the two.  We thought  with jobs being the way they are that we would get a distance away from the institutions and see if there are people interested.”

For those who would like to apply but missed yesterday’s session, Carder says there will be more opportunities in the near future.  “We are giving the video test and meet and greets on Thursdays in Chillicothe at their career center from 9:00 to 11:00,” said Carder, “Every Friday I will be in Lexington during those same hours.  If they are truly interested in a career with the Department of Corrections, they can call either facility and they will send them in the right direction.”

The Crossroads facility can be reached at 816-632-2727 and Western Missouri at 816-632-1390.
