Dorothy Ann Arnold, 78, of Norborne, died unexpectedly Thursday, October 31, 2019, at her home in Norborne.
Dorothy was born on November 7, 1941, in Carroll County, the daughter of James Madison and Helen Marguerite (Hardwick) Stafford. She was united in marriage to Gilbert Lee Arnold of Carrollton; they later divorced.
Survivors include: one son, Danny (Melissa) Arnold of Carrollton; three grandsons, Michael Arnold, Tyler Arnold, and Kyle Arnold; two brothers, Calvin “Buck” (Deena) Stafford of Rockport, TX, and Bobby Madison of Carrollton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Deborah Helen Madison, who died in infancy; and Shirley Evonne Roberts.
Dorothy was raised and educated in the area of her birth. In addition to being a housewife and homemaker, she also worked outside of the home at various places in the area. Dorothy enjoyed visiting her family, especially her grandchildren when they lived in Wisconsin. Her hobbies and interests included watching basketball, figure skating, and most of all, attending her grandson’s sporting events. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Norborne. She will be dearly missed by her friends in the Norborne/Carrollton area.

Visitation with funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2019, at Thurman Funeral Home in Norborne, with visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M., with services to follow at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be in Fairhaven Cemetery, Norborne. Please share your memories of Dorothy by visiting
