A one vehicle accident in Andrew County this morning, sent a driver and child to the hospital. According to the Highway Patrol, 19 year old Earl Ellis of Savannah was Southbound on Route D at County Road 315, North of Avenue City, when the vehicle skidded out of control and ran off the West side of the road, striking a ditch before returning to a stop in the roadway. Ellis received moderate injuries and his one year old passenger, Braylen Ellis, had minor injuries. The driver was taken by ambulance and the passenger by private vehicle to Mosaic Life Care for treatment. Ellis has now is being charged with driving while intoxicated by drugs, no seat belt, no insurance, careless and imprudent driving involving an accident, driving while suspended, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia and child endangerment.
