JOHNSON COUNTY, Mo. – The Missouri Highway Patrol believes alcohol was a factor when a car crashed in Johnson County Tuesday afternoon.

The report says James Stevenson, II,, 21, of Belton, hydroplaned and struck a ditch around 3:20 p.m. yesterday. The car went airborne, traveled up an embankment then returned to the roadway. Stevenson is suspected of driving while intoxicated, careless driving involving a crash, no seat belt and displaying the plates of another.

Stevenson was treated at Western Missouri Medical Center for moderate injuries.
