The University of Missouri Extension will hold a drought meeting in Richmond on Tuesday. Click to hear KMZU’s Kristie Cross talk to Agricultural Business Specialist Whitney Wiegel:
“What we’ll be talking about mainly is the response to the drought,” said Wiegel,” We will at different farm management strategies we can employ to make our situation a little better. Livestock Specialist Patrick Davis will be talking about some ways to extend feed supply and also ways to inventory our livestock herd. He will discuss potentially setting priorities in terms of pulling cows, weaning calves early, and things like that.”
The agenda for the evening also includes cattle nutrient requirements, nitrate toxicity considerations, pasture renovation, and cover crops.
