A Saline County man is scheduled to be arraigned at 9 a.m. Wednesday on one felony count of possession of a controlled substance.  John Kemmerer, 43, of Arrow Rock, was taken into custody late last week after a sheriff’s deputy reported finding a backpack with drugs and paraphernalia in his van. He was parked in a wooded area near the Missouri River in Glasgow.

Kemmerer was also allegedly driving with a revoked license and had four outstanding warrants for his arrest.  His bond on the drug possession charge was set at $7,500.

An anonymous source said Kemmerer was an area attorney and lost his license because of the recent allegations against him.  The claim could not be verified by the Missouri Bar Association.  An agency spokesperson told KMZU News that there were no records for Kemmerer on file.  A search of the directory did not turn up any evidence that Kemmerer had practiced law.
