CLINTON COUNTY, Mo. — A wreck north of Holt on Interstate 35 left a driver from Peculiar with critical injuries and facing possible charges in Clinton County.

The single-vehicle crash was reported in the northbound lanes of I-35 at the 34 mile marker, a mile north of Holt around 1:33 a.m. Thursday.

A vehicle driven by Caleb M. Vaughn, 22 was traveling north when it ran off the side of the road and collided with a guard rail, causing it to roll onto its top.

Vaughn suffered serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to Cameron Regional Medical Center.

He also stands accused of misdemeanors for driving while intoxicated by drugs, careless and imprudent driving and not wearing a seat belt.

Formal charges will be sent to the Clinton County prosecuting attorney’s office for consideration.
