An investigation by the Marshall Police Department in August of 2012 into the distribution of drugs has netted a Saline County resident more than a decade in the Missouri Department of Corrections.
79-year old Ollie Baker was arrested last year after someone with connections to the Marshall Police Department purchased oxycodone tablets on three separate occasions and recorded the transactions via audio.
The Marshall resident plead guilty to three counts of distribution and one count of possession with the intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance.
Baker was sentenced on July 22nd to 15 years in the Department of Corrections. The 79-year old’s sentence was elevated due to his home’s proximity to three Marshall schools – it was only about half a mile away from Benton Elementary School, Bueker Middle School, and St. Peter Catholic School.
