Elnora Adell Jordon Closterman, 83, of Waverly, MO, formerly of Kansas City, MO, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2020, at her home.

Born December 3, 1936, in Waverly, she was the daughter of the late Matthew LeRoy “Cotton” Jordon Sr. and Hallane Ivy Smith Jordon. She was a 1954 graduate of Santa Fe High School in Waverly. On November 1, 1956, she married Ronald George Closterman who preceded her in death on August 9, 2019. She worked for Milgram’s Grocery in Kansas City, MO retiring after over 30 years of service. She was a homemaker and a lunch lady at Center Annex Elementary and Indian Creek Elementary. She was president of the PTA and occasionally worked for the school board at Center Schools. She was a Girl Scout leader and was right there with her daughter for Job’s Daughters and an all-around good person to anyone she came across.

Survivors include her only child, Ronda Branner (Steve) of Alma, MO; two grandchildren, Benjamin Arbuthnot of Knob Noster, MO and Katelyn “Kate” Sutton of Liberty, MO; five great-grandchildren, Sabrina and Savannah Young of Kansas City, MO, Ronald, Samuel and Dakota and still granddaughter-in-law, Elizabeth Arbuthnot of Mena, AK; one sister, Dorothy Corwith of Reedsburg, WI; sisters-in-law, JoAnn Jordon of Independence, MO and Anna Mae Closterman of Waverly; brother-in-law, Royce “Butch” Closterman (Ruth) of North Kansas City, MO; many nieces and nephews and their families; and many friends and other family members.

Elnora was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Matthew LeRoy “Lee-Matt” Jordon; and two nephews, Kent Matthew Jordon and James Scott Corwith.

She will be deeply missed, as her family and everyone loved her so much. We hope she has found peace.

She was loving mama, ma-in-law, Nana, Aunt Ernie, Aunt Norie, Norie or El.
