With the expected snow and sleet headed their way the City of Sedalia activated their Emergency Snow Routes at 1 pm Saturday afternoon. According to City ordinance, the City’s Emergency Snow Routes may be made effective on the basis of falling snow, sleet or freezing rain, or on the basis of a forecast of such weather. The ordinance may be automatically activated when the city receives snow and ice accumulations of 2 inches or more. During this activation, parking is prohibited on the streets designated as Emergency Snow Routes. The Emergency Snow Routes will remain in effect until further notice or the streets are substantially clear of snow and ice from curb to curb for the length of the entire block. The city would like to remind residents that violators will be towed.
