The department has made Energize Missouri Agriculture loans available through funding received from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
The Agricultural Energy Loan program will provide low interest loans for Missouri farmers and agricultural entities to implement energy efficiency retrofits and upgrades on farms and agricultural facilities. The department is offering $4.5 million in financing with a three (3) percent annual interest rate for eligible projects.
Loans funds will provide Missouri’s agricultural community with the opportunity to realize measurable energy savings that will result in reduced energy costs and improved market competitiveness.
Examples of eligible projects include, but are not limited to:
-Upgrading and retrofitting equipment:
-Pumps and motors.
-Fans, blowers and dryers.
-Energy management systems.
-Mechanical systems and components.
-Lighting systems and controls.
-Improving existing building envelope (non-residental): insulation and air sealing, infrared (IR) coated films.
-Improving existing irrigation: pumps, motors, controllers, and N2 applicator systems.
-Ongoing maintenance: replacing nozzles and couplers on pivots.
