Engineers are expected to submit the final plan for the Richmond waste water treatment plant to the Department of Natural Resources today. Click to hear KMZU’s Kristie Cross talk to City Administrator Ron Brohammer:
According to Brohammer, work will continue on other requirements as they wait for this approval. “We have some information that we need to gather for the USDA who is providing a grant and low interest funds for the project,”said Brohammer,” We’re also finalizing the rights of way for the main that will go through town from the north plant to the south plant. We’re still optimistic that we’ll be able to get this project to bid before the end of the year, although it is going to be close because there’s still so many things that need to be done.”
Officials hope to break ground on the new plant by late March or early April of 2013.
