BRUNSWICK, Mo. — Flood waters continue to rise in the Brunswick area and residents in some parts of town are encouraged by local officials to evacuate.

According to a release from the City of Brunswick, water is entering the city limits of Brunswick from both the east and west and waters are rising quickly.

Anyone living in Brunswick south of Broadway Street, north of Broadway from Wood Street to the eastern edge of town and south of East Harrison from Adams East are encouraged to evacuate immediately.

Donations of items are also needed to aid in the emergency flooding operation ongoing in Brunswick. Items requested by officials include paper plates, juice, coffee creamer, coffee containers or chap stick, among others.

As people evacuate their residences, the are asked to let officials know they are out of harm’s way by calling Chariton County 911 Dispatch at (660) 388-3460.
