The Lexington Chamber of Commerce’s 21st Annual Chamber Festival of Lights returns on Friday, December 4th.
The parade of creatively designed and beautifully lit, holiday floats will travel through the downtown starting at 7 p.m. Floats have a chance to register and win cash prizes – $100 for First, $75 for Second and $50 for Third place. Additional forms are available at the chamber office.
Firestorm Charities will be selling food from the parking lot at Pat’s Army Store. By contacting a Firestorm member, through Facebook or their website, you can pre-order baby back ribs to be picked up that evening. Proceeds will benefit Lexington Angel Tree.
Bring your list and come visit Mr. & Mrs. Santa Claus at The LEX from 5:00 until 6:45pm, and then they’ll return at approximately 7:45 until 9:00 (after the parade). Free gift for the kiddos while supplies last! Bring your camera for the beautiful Victorian Themed photo opportunity! A free take-home craft will be provided by The Lexington Arts Council, while supplies last. Enjoy warm cocoa or adult beverages.
Don’t miss the performances of Shapes Dance & Acro in front of the courthouse before the parade at 6:15pm.
The Lexington Community Fair Board will feature a snow ball drop at 6:30pm on the city lot at 12th & Main. They’ll also be handing out glow in the dark necklaces while supplies last. There will be a Community Christmas Tree lighting ceremony at 7:55pm at 12th & Main
Don’t miss the craft show at the P&H Center Friday 5pm to 9pm and Saturday 8am to 4pm. Participating downtown shops and businesses will be open as well; it’s the perfect time to explore all things Lexington has to offer.
The Wentworth Museum will be open Friday until 8 pm so people can stop in to see the Missouri bicentennial exhibit, Struggle for Statehood, sponsored by the Arts Council.
