Cultural Corner Art Guild and Gallery is excited to present the first Kelly Poling Scavenger Hunt and Dinner. This event will be a fun way to honor Kelly while raising funds for operation of the guild. Poling left an awe-inspiring legacy of 24 murals in the downtown area, painting his first mural in 2000 and completing his last on the south side of the Cultural Corner building in 2018, shortly before he passed away. Kelly’s masterful artwork has been instrumental in revitalizing Chillicothe and bringing tourists from around the country. Each mural depicts a slice of history of the town and surrounding area. Polling was a founding member of the board of directors for Cultural Corner and it was his vision to see a thriving artist community in Chillicothe. The scavenger hunt will take place on October 12th and is open to all those 12 years of age and older. Teams may have between 2 and no more than 6 participants. The night will begin at 5:00 p.m. at Cultural Corner, 424 Locust Street, where teams will receive instructions and clues. They will then have two hours to solve the puzzles and search the murals for the answers. A barbecue dinner will follow. There will be a cash bar. The winning team will receive a gift certificate to Blackwater Restaurant and second place will receive $25 toward a class or purchase from the gift shop at Cultural Corner.
Cost of tickets is $25 per person or $125 for a team of six. Tickets may be purchased at Cultural Corner. The guild is open from 10:00 to 4:00 on Tuesday – Friday and 10:00 to 2:00 on Saturday.
