JEFFERSON CITY (KMZU) — COVID-19 health concerns have canceled most of this year’s Missouri State Fair events — including honoring farm families from each of Missouri’s 114 counties. Blake Hurst, president of Missouri Farm Bureau, who sponsors the event, says the organization will recognize those families next year.

“We felt like it wasn’t fair,” Hurst told KMZU.  “Part of the reward for being recognized as a farm family is a chance to spend a day on the fairgrounds and to take part in all the activities. And clearly, most, if not all of those activities won’t be available this year.”
