MAYSVILLE, Mo. — A search for the missing Cameron woman did not reveal her location, but officials are saying they did find evidence on her possible whereabouts.
DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Kasey Keesaman said Wednesday that Leah Marie Dawson, 23, was not spotted Tuesday during a search effort of a local pond and wooded area. Keesaman did say that evidence was found, but would not explain the evidence in detail.
Dawson is described at a white female, standing 5 feet 1 inch and weighing approximately 120 lbs, has brown hair, blue eyes and a light complexion. Her clothing is unknown.
Dawson’s boyfriend Kenneth Lynn Wykert, 49, is the last known person to see her. He has recently been charged with a felony of not registering as a sex offender. Officials are not connecting Wykert to Dawson’s disappearance.
Anyone with information is urged to call 911 or the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office at 816-449-5802.
