EXCELSIOR SPRINGS, MO – A resident of Excelsior Springs was airlifted after being injured in a motor vehicle accident Thursday afternoon.

An intersection in Excelsior Springs was the site of the crash between a passenger vehicle and a dump truck. According to a crash report, the dump truck was slowing to make a left turn off northbound 69 Highway, just before Cameron Road when it was struck from behind. The passenger vehicle, driven by Robert McKenzie, 32, slowed and skidded, but could not stop in time.

McKenzie was taken with serious injuries to Truman Medical Center.
