Details are coming in about a massive fire in Pettis County Friday morning at around midnight.

According to scanner traffic the inferno was with the Panhandle Eastern Pipeline near Houstonia. Callers are reporting of seeing the explosion as far as 60 to 70 miles away. Emergency crews are responding from around the area. Police reports indicate it’s a natural gas hub and the main blaze was under control by 1 a.m. No injuries have been reported as of yet. Dispatchers from around the area are asking residents to slow the calls on this incident due to the overwhelming flood of calls throughout all counties surrounding Pettis County. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
