“We recommend that everyone change the batteries in their smoke and carbon monoxide detectors when they change their clocks,” said Wright,” Ideally, this will be done in both the spring and the fall.”

Wright says the devices should also be inspected.  “These devices can certainly be the difference between life and death,” said Wright,” They generally have a lifespan of ten years.  A manufacturer’s date can be located on each one.”
