MISSOURI – The Farmers’ Electric Cooperative’s Area Youth Benefit Fund Dinner and Auction is coming up at the end of August and will include both silent and live auctions with items donated by area businesses. The Communications Manager for Farmers’ Electric Cooperative, Chasity Anderson, describes the fundraiser as well as who it benefits.

The fundraiser will be held on Saturday, August 29th beginning at 5 p.m. It will be hosted at the Elks Lodge in Chillicothe, and anyone with questions is encouraged to contact FEC, at their toll free number (800) 279-0496.

In 1993 Farmer’ Electric Cooperative started a program known as the Area Youth Benefit Fund to assist area youth ages 18 years and younger finance medical expenses. The main counties this program serves includes: Caldwell, Carroll, Chariton, Clinton, Daviess, DeKalb, Linn, Livingston and Ray. If a youth resides in these counties they do not have to be a member of the Farmer’ Electric Cooperative to receive assistance. The fund can also assist youth outside of these counties if they are a member. According to the FEC website, the Farmers’ Electric has distributed over $629,000 to 596 families.

If you are unable to attend the event, a paypal option is located on the FEC website and a code is available for donors whose employers will match their contribution.
