On Tuesday June 9th Farmers Electric Cooperative will celebrate 77 years of providing electric service to Members at their annual meeting. The celebration and meeting will be held at the Gary Dickinson Performing Arts Center at Chillicothe High School. At 5:30 p.m. doors will be opened for Member registration but to celebrate there will be cookies and punch and booths to be visited before the business meeting begins. The business meeting starts at 7:00 and will include a report on the state of the Co-op and the election of three representatives to the Board of Directors for District 1 which is Daviess, Harrison, Gentry and Dekalb Counties, District 4 which includes Livingston and Grundy Counties and District 5 with Carroll and Lafayette Counties.
At registration Members will be given a gift bucket with a $10 bill credit, refillable notebook and electrical safety/efficiency information. Also door prize drawings will be held after the event with tons of prizes to be handed out and two grand prizes that include a $500 dollar Farmers’ Electric Cooperative bill credit and a mini Ipad. This event will also include a kids’ fun zone open during the meeting which will include a bounce house as activities and games for kids ages three and up. A kids only drawing will be held in the fun zone as well with two electric scooters being given away.
