An accident in Clay County Saturday night was fatal for an Independence man and injured two others. Reports from the Highway Patrol indicate Kenneth Brady, 56, was southbound on Route JJ south of Route H when he failed to negotiate a turn and went into oncoming traffic. He was hit head on by James Markeith, 32. Brady was thrown from the vehicle. Markeith and his passenger Crystal James, 28, had minor injuries and refused treatment. Brady was pronounced dead at the scene.
