A fire at a former restaurant on Highway 5 east of Chillicothe had area firefighters tied up Tuesday morning for some time.

According to the official report from Fire Chief Darrell Wright, it was called in just before 1 a.m. Crews arrived a few minutes later and remained until 4:30 a.m. Mutual aid was called in and the flames were eventually extinguished.

Damage to the former Catfish Place is estimated to be about $85,000. There were no injuries reported.
