ALBANY, Mo. – A huge fire has ravaged most of GHS Paper Tube and Core Manufacturing in Albany, Mo., Sunday.
According to News-Press, firefighters were called to 805 U.S. Highway 136 at 1:07 p.m. Around 5:30 p.m., flames reportedly could still be seen coming from the front of the building. A tractor-trailer that was parked next to the building allegedly caught fire as well.
As emergency crews worked to extinguish the blaze, Highway 136 was closed to traffic.
The manufacturer of has been in business since 1979, according to the company’s website. GHS Paper Tube bought the business in 2002, and has expanded to what is now a 65,000 square foot facility.
