Work continues to keep Highway 65 open between Carrollton and Marshall.
Click to hear KMZU’s Chris Clift talk with Carroll County Sheriff Troy Hofstetter:
The initial work to secure Highway 65 from water has been completed and now crews are just maintaining the sandbags and a makeshift levee.
Permission has been granted by SEMA to start pumping that could help keep the road open.
Hofstetter says they are in good shape with funding for diesel and maintaining the pumps.
There will be a meeting held Saturday at 8 a.m. in the basement of the Carrollton Library for those who own land in the bottoms.
The forecast on the Missouri River is also looking better, with a rise of only 0.3 feet over the next few days now being called for.
