The river forecast issued Friday morning actually calls for levels to drop temporarily.
Click to hear KMZU’s Chris Clift talk with Carroll County Sheriff Troy Hofstetter:
Hofstetter says the drop in the level on the Missouri River is because of levee breaks.
The current forecast will only offer temporary relief as the level will start to climb back up a few days later.
According to Hofstetter some work was done on a levee in the southern part of Carroll County Thursday.
The same levee that broke last summer has no grass, so crews were putting plastic down to help it hold.
