Officials seem to be encouraged by a hot and dry forecast that should allow levels on the Missouri River to keep dropping this week.
Click to hear KMZU’s Chris Clift talk with Carroll County Sheriff Troy Hofstetter:
Water levels continue dropping, and it has been enough to allow the ramps from Highway 10 on and off Highway 65 in southern Carrollton to open back up.
Highway 10 does remain closed, and Highway 65 is still open.
According to Hofstetter there is still levee work underway in the county, and while the hot weather is hard on crews out there it offers an advantage overall because of the drop in river levels that should come with it.
Hofstetter encourages anyone with questions or concerns regarding flooding to contact dispatch at 542-2200 or 542-2828.
