The Sugar Tree levee in southern Carroll County is still a work in progress.
Click to hear KMZU’s Chris Clift talk with Sheriff Troy Hofstetter:
National Guard troops are continuing their work to shore up the Sugar Tree levee throughout Thursday afternoon.
Hofstetter says levee work is underway in numerous other locations including Ray County and in the Orrick area.
Additional rainfall in the immediate KMZU listening area Thursday morning won’t help, and the same system that brought rain here dumped over four inches in some parts of Atchison County in northwest Missouri.
Hofstetter says he appreciates that people are doing a good job staying off the levees and out of the way of work crews.
