Almost 40 roads in Missouri are now closed because of flooding in the northwest part of the state.
Click to hear KMZU’s Chris Clift talk with Carroll County Sheriff Troy Hofstetter:
Hofstetter says preparations are now being made for the Missouri River at Waverly to hit 27 – 28 feet later this week.
There will be a meeting of the Emergency Operations Command in Carroll County at noon Thursday to discuss their plans.
Sand is running in short supply in extreme northwestern Missouri, but Hofstetter says that should not be a problem in our immediate area.
According to Hofstetter the Army Corps of Engineers still plans to keep the release from Gavin’s Point Dam at 150,000 cubic feet per second at this point in time.
