Carroll County Sheriff Troy Hofstetter stops by the KMZU studios every weekday after the 11 a.m. conference call related to Missouri River flooding.

Hofstetter says the Army Corps of Engineers will be releasing 140,000 cubic feet per second of water out of Gavin’s Point Dam starting Wednesday and continuing for a few days.
According to Hofstetter a large number of media reports are quoting worst case scenario flooding numbers, which are not guaranteed to happen.
He encourages the public to stay tuned to flood warnings, river stages and other information as the flooding picture becomes more clear over the coming days.
Hofstetter also reminds everyone to stay off levees. They are private property, and not a safe place to be right now.
