The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning today, May 26, for the Missouri River in these areas:
- Sibley, affecting Clay, Jackson and Ray counties
- Miami, affecting Carroll, Chariton and Saline counties, for Wednesday morning until further notice. The river is expected to crest near 23.5 feet Friday morning.
- Glasgow, affecting Chariton, Howard and Saline counties, for Wednesday night until further notice. The river expected to crest near 28 feet by Friday evening. At 27 feet, many agricultural levees are overtopped, according to the weather service. Widespread flooding of rural areas may occur. Secondary roads and homes behind levees may experience flooding.
