LAFAYETTE COUNTY, Mo – A Florida woman is facing felony delivery of a controlled substance charges in Lafayette County.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, Shirley Kay Chavis, 53, was pulled over for driving with a disabled placard hanging in the rear view mirror on September 9. During the search criminal indicators were observed and a consented search was performed. During the search, approximately 8 pounds of vacuumed sealed marijuana was found to be concealed in rear panels, the trunk liner and under the back seat.

Chavis is facing felony delivery of a controlled substance and is out of custody. A hearing is scheduled for September 25 at 9:30 a.m.
