SALINE COUNTY, Mo. – One of two defendants in a Saline County forgery case has waived his preliminary hearing.

On Wednesday, May 22, Lawrence Oker, 27, of Marshall appeared with the public defender, who filed the waiver of preliminary hearing. Oker and Bobby L. Asher are charged with felony forgery and stealing over $750. Court documents say the men tried to cash a fraudulent Lock Warehouse business check for nearly $4,500 at the Bank 21 in Marshall.

Oker will be arraigned in circuit court on May 28, 2019
