BLUE SPRINGS, Mo.– The Odessa man who allegedly caused a five-car pileup on I-70 Monday evening, which killed two children, has been charged with murder.  How-to-Prepare-For-a-Dui-Court-Hearing

James Leroy Green, 60, told authorities he had been drinking before the crash, but refused a breath test. Highway Patrol says Green hit the rear of David Beaird’s, 39, vehicle near Adams Dairy Parkway in Blue Springs, which left Chloe Beaird, 7, and Gavin Beaird, 13, dead. David and his wife, Jennifer Beaird were taken to Centerpoint Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Reports now show David Beaird is paralyzed from the chest down. Updates on Jennifer’s status have not been released.

Green is charged with two counts of second degree murder, felony driving while intoxicated, two counts of assault in the second degree, and driving while revoked.

Court records show Green was charged with driving while intoxicated in 2007, to which he pleaded guilty and was sentenced to two years probation.

A bond has been set at $200,000 cash only with court dates pending.
