INDEPENDENCE, Mo. (AP) – Rosalynn Carter will visit Missouri next month to help honor another former first lady in Independence. The wife of former President Jimmy Carter will speak Feb. 13 at the Truman Presidential Library to celebrate the 126th anniversary of Bess Truman’s birthday. The event begins with a 4 p.m. program. Afterward, the Independence Pioneers chapter of the Daughters of American Revolution will host its annual Bess Truman Birthday Tea. There will be no charge for members of the Truman Library Institute. Nonmembers will be charged $10.
