A Harrisonville resident and former Grandview law officer convicted of first-degree murder and armed criminal action, will learn his fate Monday morning in a Clay Co. Courtroom.
Jeffrey Moreland, 53, was found guilty by a jury in the 2008 death of Cara Jo Roberts, back in September.
Moreland is also accused in a sexual assault case that dates back to 2011. He is charged with one count of forcible rape and two counts of forcible sodomy.
The sentencing is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. with a case review at 1:30 p.m.
