RICHMOND, Mo – A former Richmond resident faces rape allegations in connection with events nearly 20 years ago.
The accusations were brought against Matthew C. Lindsey, currently the principal of Winnetonka High School in Kansas City. The rape allegations come from a former cheerleader who attended Richmond High School.
According to a probable cause statement, Lindsey had been the vice principal and basketball coach at Richmond in the late 1990’s. The alleged victim says she had close to 20 sexual encounters with Lindsey that occurred at his home in Richmond, as well as the Lexington Inn Hotel. At the time she was under seventeen years of age.
Lindsey was charged today with two counts of statutory rape in the second degree from October of 1997.
Bond is set at $50,000.
