Fort Osage Special Olympics Basketball athletes participated in the Kansas City Area Basketball Tournament and took home awards in a several divisions.

Congratulations to the Fort Osage Special Olympics Basketball athletes participating in the KC Area Basketball Tournament on January 7. The Girls 3 on 3 team earned a silver medal. Members are high school students Shelby Enix, Kristina Medley, Mary Last and Amanda Bowen; Madia Rhodes from Osage Trail Middle School; and Baylee Hall from Fire Prairie Middle School. The Boys 3 on 3 team scored the first place gold medal in their division! Team member are high school students Bradlee Davidson, Tony Porter, Dalton Hall, Jacob Paquin and Tristan Pucket; and Osage Trail Middle School student Josh Carpenter. In the Individual Skills competition, Shelby Leibrecht won a bronze medal, Shawn Smith won silver and Colin Echols won the gold.
