Tri County Mental Health Services Community Prevention Specialist Kara Siefker spoke to KMZU’s Sandi Wilson about a free presentation coming up on September 25th and a training coming up on September 30th.
The Tri County Mental Health Services are hosting 2 presentations this month. The first is a free event regarding the impact of marijuana in our area and across the nation. Community Prevention Specialist Kara Siefker says special guest speaker Monte Stiles will be on hand to provide a federal prosecutor point of view as far as laws and decriminalization of marijuana. He will also give tips on how to educate youth on the topic. Those who would greatly benefit from this presentation are parents, educators, counselors, and community leaders who work with youth. This forum will take place at the Ray County Library in Richmond on September 25th from 4-6 p.m.
The second event is also free however you must register. This is a free training that is highly beneficial to teachers, counselors, social workers, coaches, SRO’s and school staff. Lt. Ed Moses will be on hand to provide the training to make your lessons plans more focused on making drug education effective. This free training will provide contact hours and will be held at the Maple Woods Community College Campus Center Building in Kansas City on September 30th from 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Registration starts at 7:30 and lunch will be provided.
