University of Missouri Extension, in conjunction with the Carrollton Public Library, will be offering two food preservation workshops in June. Megan Webb, nutrition and health specialist for MU Extension, will serve as facilitator, providing hands on demonstrations concerning food safety during preservation and methods for achieving the highest quality. The first workshop will be held June 12 and will cover freezing fruits and vegetables; water bath canning; and salsa, jams, and jellies. The second will take place on June 26 with topics discussed being food dehydration and pressure canning vegetables. Both workshops will be held in the conference room of the Carrollton Public Library (1 N. Folger Street, Carrollton, MO) and will run from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Participants may attend either one or both of the workshops.
Thanks to the Carroll County Extension Council, there is no cost to attend this workshop; however, if you would like to assist with this and/or other Extension programming, donations are always appreciated. In an effort to ensure an adequate amount of materials are available, registration is required.
