A Daviess County resident will spend more time in custody.  The case against Daniel Froman, 66, was set to go to trial in late February, but he entered an Alford plea late last week.  Froman was charged in 2009 with sexual assault and tampering with a witness.  He was sentenced Thursday to five years in the Department of Corrections.  Froman, who owned Gallatin Grain Company, was sentenced in early March to six years in federal prison related to a separate investigation, in which he stole from 100 northwest Missouri farmers.  Court records indicate that the crime netted him more than $3 million.
