UPDATE: 02/11/2020, 11:15 p.m. — The Linn County Sheriff’s Department has identified the suspect as 37 year old Matthew Guilford of Brookfield. On February 11, 2020, at approximately 2:52 p.m., a deputy from the Linn County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a red Chevrolet truck on Vernon Street in Laclede, Missouri. The truck was driven by 37-year-old Matthew Guilford, of Brookfield, Missouri. Guilford had a warrant for his arrest from Linn County for felony possession of a controlled substance and felony trafficking drugs. The warrant was the result of an investigation by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office. Guilford also had a Federal Parole warrant issued for his arrest with the original charge of felon in possession of a firearm.

Guilford is currently incarcerated at the Macon County Sheriff’s Office for the Linn County warrant and the federal parole warrant. The bond on the Linn County Warrant is $50,000 cash only. No bond is authorized on the federal parole warrant. The Linn County Sheriff’s Office will apply for formal charges against Guilford in multiple counites in relation to the additional alleged crimes committed on February 11, 2020.

UPDATE: 02/11/2020, 5:30 p.m. — The reported armed robbery took place in Linn County and charges will be sought by Linn County authorities.

MARSHALL, Mo. — A federal fugitive is captured following an extensive high speed chase down southbound Highway 65.

Multiple local law enforcement agencies were involved in the pursuit that went through at least 3 counties including Livingston, Carroll and Saline. The suspect was known to be armed and dangerous at the time of pursuit and drove a red Chevy Silverado at points of over 100 mph.

Officials confirmed the suspect was wanted for armed robbery. At the time of publication it is unclear where the chase began along with the details of the armed robbery.

During the pursuit, multiple tires were blown out with the suspect driving on steel rims through Carroll and Saline Counties. The pursuit eventually ended in Marshall near Fitzgibbon Hospital.

Livingston County Sheriff Steve Cox located methamphetamine scattered on the driver’s seat and interior of the truck. Evidence was collected by authorities in Saline County.
