One of the victims badly burned in tragic accident more than two weeks ago is improving, according to family members. Joshua Edwards, 23, of Osborn, and his girlfriend Danielle Watts, 19, of Hamilton sustained serious injuries in a bonfire accident on June 10th. Click to hear KMZU’s Chelsea Wade talk with Joshua’s brother Jeremy:
The tragic accident left Edwards with more than 85% of his body burned. Watts received third degree burns covering 35% of her body and has since been released from the hospital. The family expects Edwards to be in intensive care for at least 100 days.
A special event to help with the mounting medical bills is scheduled for July 30 at the Soggy Bottom Campgrounds. The silent auction begins at 3 p.m. and the whole hog roast kicks off at 4 p.m.
RV and camping proceeds from that weekend will also be donated to Josh.
Anyone wishing to donate items for the auction may call Lori Richardson at (816) 383-3804 or Debbie Cox at (816) 724-0071.
