Henderson says Melissa Galbreath will be serving as volunteer coordinator and case manager at the Trenton location.

Madeline Henderson joins the staff at the Chillicothe branch, filling the same position.

According to Henderson, the two additions will increase the amount of service provided to women and children facing violent domestic situations.

Galbreath Joins Women’s Shelter Staff

Melissa Galbreath has recently transitioned to the Trenton Green Hills Women’s Shelter team as a Case Manager/Volunteer Coordinator for the program. Melissa has held several positions within the agency during her years with Green Hills, and prior to her appointment at the Shelter, she served as Harrison County Customer Service Representative in Bethany. “I am very excited to be joining the shelter team, everyone has been very inviting and a joy to work with and I look forward to many happy years at the Shelter.” A Shelter Case Manager/Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for assisting domestic/sexual abuse victims with programs operated by Green Hills Community Action Agency/Green Hills Women’s Shelter and other agencies which serve victims of abuse.

The Green Hills Women’s Shelter got its start in 1996, with the opening of the original Women’s Shelter location in Trenton, Missouri. 2005 saw the expansion to a second site in Chillicothe, and only one year ago in December of 2009, a third location was opened in Cameron. Serving a 13 county area of Northern Missouri, the Green Hills Women’s Shelters help survivors get their lives back together by providing services including a 24 hour hotline, safe shelter, crisis intervention, case management, legal advocacy, relocation services, housing/utility assistance, job location assistance and training, if necessary, transportation, personal advocacy and referrals. All three shelter facilities operate 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, year-round.

Henderson Joins Women’s Shelter Staff

Mady Henderson, a native of Trenton, has recently joined the Chillicothe Green Hills Women’s Shelter team as a Case Manager/Volunteer Coordinator for the program. A Shelter Case Manager/Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for assisting domestic/sexual abuse victims with programs operated by Green Hills Community Action Agency/Green Hills Women’s Shelter and other agencies which serve victims of abuse. Other duties include seeking out volunteers to assist at the Shelter, and connecting clients with every assistance option available to them as they leave an abusive situation.

Ms Henderson, with over six years of experience working one-on-one with clients, has named her foremost goals as increasing community involvement and ensuring that all clients receive a high level of personalized service. Other ambitions include strengthening Shelter fundraising projects and raising overall awareness of the Shelter’s mission.
