Jefferson City, MO –To celebrate National Future Farmers of America (FFA) week in Missouri, Governor Mike Parson and Lieutenant Governor Mike Kehoe will be driving to the State Capitol on John Deere Tractors Friday, February 28.

More than 200 FFA students from across Missouri will welcome them to the Capitol on the southwest lawn. After the procession, there will be a ceremony in the Capitol Rotunda that will focus on agriculture careers with ag leaders from across the state.

Director of Missouri Agriculture Chris Chinn said the future of Missouri agriculture lies in the hands of our students.

“It’s important that we invest in [our] young leaders now so that they can invent the next agriculture technology, return to the family farm, or help us share the story of Missouri agriculture,” Chinn said.

Governor Parson operates a cattle ranch in Bolivar.

The event is being called the National FFA Week Proclamation Ceremony and will include several representatives from different agriculture departments.
