JEFFERSON CITY, MO  Missouri Governor Mike Parson signed an executive order Tuesday morning, combating the use of electronic smoking devises used by children. Gov. Parson said the Center for Disease Control reports that nationally, there are over 1,000 lung diseases linked to using the vaping devises and 18 deaths.

He said in Missouri, there are 22 vaping-related illnesses reported, including one death.

Parson wants a plan of action in place in the next 30 days to combat in what he called an epidemic.

Reportedly in Missouri, 27 percent of middle and high school kids are vaping.

The Center for Disease Control said that many of the illnesses were also caused by THC inhaled from vaping devices. Parson said this executive order will also counter-target vaping ad campaigns that solicit our youth.
